چکیده
This work presents the effect of nanoparticles (Al2O3 and TiO2) on methyl ester synthesized from palm kernel oil for oil-filled power equipment. It investigates loss tangent, AC conductivity, breakdown strength ester-based nanofluid. The surface was functionalized with oleic acid before dispersing it into to modify stability mixture. Scanning electron microscopy coupled dispersive X-ray done two know morphology elemental composition nanoparticles. preparation nanofluids achieved through dispersion 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1wt% ester. observed that loading reduces tangent conductivity but a pronounced enhancement in Al2O3 Weibull statistical analysis data shows base fluid increases characteristic an optimum performance at 0.6 wt%. TiO2 nanofluid is 60.6 kV 64.1 kV, respectively. result revealed possesses highest dielectric properties low loss, high which makes better replacement mineral insulating oil.

Research on the transformer oil-based nanofluids (NFs) has been raised expeditiously over the past decade. Although, there is discrepancy in the stated results and inadequate understanding of the mechanisms of improvement of dielectric nanofluids, these nanofluids have emerged as a potential substitute of mineral oils as insulating and heat removal fluids for high voltage equipment. The transfo...

Received Feb 7, 2017 Revised Apr 5, 2017 Accepted Apr 29, 2017 Trends in the field of nanomaterial-based transformer oil show most of the conducted works have focused only on the transformer oil-based nanofluids but limited studies on the stability of transformer oil-based nanofluids. Since mineral oil-based nanofluids still can produce the sedimentation, thus the cold-atmospheric pressure plas...
